For those of you still unaware, Corella is a name you simply have to remember. The Manchester music scene is not short of incredible bands at the moment (luckily) but Corella are really beginning to rise head and shoulders above many others.
Previous singles See The Day and Waterfall were perfect indicators of what was to come from Corella but their finest hour came at Gorilla, which went bonkers for the band, a couple of weeks back when they were the main support act for Larkins and, for some, stole the night.
On the strength of all this we are being treated to a new single from the lads, Fever.
With the summer festival season on the horizon Fever couldn't have come at a better time for Corella, it's certainly set to be a festival anthem. Jangly, Funky Indie Pop is the name of the game here and it's perfect. It has me dreaming of the summer days to come and frothing at the mouth in anticipation of singing the perfectly harmonious chorus along with the band in my wellies with cider in hand! It's also boxed up and ready for mainstream radio coverage, fitting in perfectly between the likes of Foals and The 1975.
With the mighty Scruff of the Neck behind them there are some really big things on the horizon for Corella including a massive headline show at best venue in the land Deaf Institute, Manchester as well as slots all across the country. Tickets for the Deaf Institute show are available from TicketAlien here.
